Russia: 22.2% year-on-year growth on fruits production

(Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Nov 1). Russia's fruit output has reached 1.1 million tons, which means a year-on-year increase of 22.2%. Russia's total fruit output is expected to reach 1.5 million tons this year, hitting a record high. The Agriculture Ministry expects that Russian fruit production will increase to 2.2 million tons in the next five years. 

Vietnam boosted its seafood exports by nearly 50% in October

(Vietnam Customs Online, Nov 8) Vietnam's seafood exports dropped sharply in August and September due to COVID-19 prevention and control measures, but the production and export of seafood have improved significantly since October, with the year-on-year growth of nearly 50%, Vietnam's Customs Online reported on November 8. Of this, shrimp exports amounted to $3.2 billion, up by 2.6%; tuna exports $598 million, up by 10%; octopus and squid exports were $475 million, up by 4.5%. In terms of export markets, in October 2021, Vietnam's exports of aquatic products to the United States increased by 31%, to the European Union by 9%, to South Korea by 20%, and to Canada by 17%. By October 2021, Vietnam's exports of aquatic products reached US$7.1 billion, up by 2.4%. 

Peru reassures itself as the world's largest exporter of blueberries for the third year

(El Mundo, Oct 21) Peru will remain the world's largest exporter of blueberries this year for the third year in a row, el Mundo reported on October 21. Up until October Peru has exported 112,000 tonnes of blueberries, and its annual export is expected to increase by 40% year-on-year by the end of this year. The United States is its largest export destination for Peruvian blueberries, accounting for more than 50% of total exports, with China and Europe also among the top destinations. 

South Korea: 20.5% increase in its seafood exports in the first 10 months of the year, compared to the same period last year

Seoul, November 7 (Yonhap) -- According to the South Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Seven-day news, in the first 10 months of this year, the cumulative export of aquatic products increased by 20.5% year on year to $2.24 billion. Main categories of products include laver, tuna, oysters, sole and other aquatic products. In particular, the demand for fast food has been boosted due to the spread of COVID-19, and fish cake has become a major export product.
